Aerial Roof Imaging & AI-Assisted Review

Systematic aerial imaging documents the entire roof in high resolution, from consistent angles: every plane, ridge, valley, flashing, penetration, gutter, and downspout. That includes steep, high, or fragile roofs that can't be walked safely or fully. The images are screened with AI-assisted analysis, and Jon verifies each flagged item against the original photographs. Where conditions allow, aerial imaging is combined with walking the roof and attic observations.

Why Drone Imaging?

Walking a steep or high roof carries real safety risk and is not always possible. Drone imaging allows for a systematic view of the entire roof surface — including areas that would be difficult or unsafe to reach on foot — without compromising the quality of the evaluation.

How It Works

01

Flight & Imaging

Jon pilots the drone to capture systematic, overlapping aerial photographs of the entire roof surface — ridgelines, valleys, flashings, penetrations, and perimeter edges.

02

AI-Assisted Analysis

Captured imagery is processed through AI-assisted analysis tools that help identify potential roofing defects, wear patterns, and areas warranting closer review.

03

Reporting

Findings are documented with annotated imagery in the inspection report, giving you a visual record of the roof's condition at the time of inspection.

04

Follow-Up

Where drone imaging identifies conditions that warrant ground-level or closer evaluation, Jon notes those areas and provides guidance on next steps.

FAA Remote Pilot Certificate — Aerial Roof Imaging & AI-Assisted Review

Jon holds an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate with Small UAS Rating (Part 107), authorizing commercial drone operations.

Scope & Limitations

Aerial roof imaging is a visual assessment. It does not confirm active leaks, concealed moisture, or decking condition, and it does not determine remaining service life.

Drone roof imaging is included as part of applicable home inspections and is also available as a standalone service.
